Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is when you are employed by a company where they teach you a certain trade and you get paid while learning. It is becoming more difficult to get an apprenticeship as not many companies want to employ people who are young, which is the main audience for apprenticeship. An example of apprenticeships is working in a tv studios. As you get to learn about the working world and the atompospere of what it is like. There are different contract types which include full time and part time, fixed term contracts and a zero hour contract is only a few different typed of contracts avaliable.

The minimum wage for an apprenticeship is £3.50 if you are under 19 and any apprentice, regardless of age,in first year of apprenticeship.

You will be paid for working hours and all training and you get 20 days paid holiday.

There are many opportunities which come with having an apprenticeship which include Getting to learn new skills, you may get employment by the company at the end of the apprenticeship, earn money, a good thing to have on your CV, there are lots of apprenticeships about so you can find one that you enjoy in your chosen field.
